- Introduction BRENDA is the main collection of enzyme functional data available to the scientific community. It is available free of charge via the internet (www.brenda-enzymes.org).
USAGE POLICY The BRENDA SOAP API runs on a limited pool of shared servers. To ensure stable and fair access for all users, we kindly ask that you do not send more than one request per second. To protect our infrastructure, BRENDA uses automated security mechanisms. Staying within this limit helps prevent your application from being mistakenly identified as a bot and ensures uninterrupted access.
If an enzyme is sufficiently biochemically characterized the BRENDA team prepares a data set and includes the enzyme as "preliminary BRENDA-supplied EC number".
BRENDA is a comprehensive database providing detailed information about enzymes, including their functions, structures, and biochemical reactions.
