Djokovic then went on to win another gold medal for his country. Novak Djokovic secured a place in the semifinals of the Australian Open in a match that ended in unexpected fashion. Despite Lorenzo Musetti (5) holding a 2–0 lead in sets, the Italian was forced to retire due to injury during the quarterfinal, with Novak leading 3-1 in the third set.
With this victory, Djokovic also became the oldest player ever to win an ATP tournament. Novak is third in the all-time list for most men’s singles titles in the Open Era (101), with Jimmy Connors (109) and Roger Federer (103) in the 100 Club.
