Jon Fishman (born ) is an American drummer and co-founder of the band Phish, which was, in part, named after him. He is credited with co-writing nineteen Phish songs, eight with a solo credit.
Jon Fishman is the frock-wearing drummer for the world-renowned improvisational rock band Phish. He's been in the band since its inception in 1983 at the University of Vermont. Fishman is also the drummer for Pork Tornado and sometimes Jazz Mandolin Project.
In 2006, drummer Jon Fishman and his wife, Briar Lyons, bought a farm in Lincolnville. Now, they’re raising their five kids, tending 30 acres of organic blueberry barren, and running the nearby Lincolnville General Store. Lyons serves on the school board, Fishman on the select board.
