In the Google Photos app for Android there's unfortunately no direct way of view recently uploaded photos. However, as a workaround, you may visit https://photos.google.com/search/_tra_ with a mobile browser on your device.

Through a long and convoluted process, I was able to upload pix from my android phone to Google photos on my laptop. Now, however, I can only access these new photos by choosing "Explore" and finding "Recently Added" at bottom of screen. I am able to see them and most are put into "Month" folders. How do I get them to show up with all the rest of my photos which are accessed under "Photos ...
On your computer, open 'Recently added' in Google Photos. If it's not there, search for the photo and use the right dates or keywords. At the top, select Search and type what you want to find, like 'dogs', 'New York City' or, if you tag your photos, someone's name. If your search comes up empty, try other keywords or search again in three to five days. It can take time for photos to be searchable.
