An aerial view of Rincon and its historic lighthouse. But the name actually comes from Don Gonzalo de Rincón. In the 1500’s, he worked as a butler for Don Tomás de Castellano who was a well-known landowner. He left his lands to Don Gonzalo de Rincón before he died.

Rincon is best known for two things—surfing and sunsets. Beaches are small (meaning no huge resort beaches) and no matter how much of a Type-A personality you are, Rincon’s laid-back attitude and leisurely pace will soon win you over.
