Tranny Head

Re: TH350 tranny problem, stuck in gear? Update! I finally got around to pulling the TH350 (installing a 700R now) I dropped the tranny and found the problem to be an "S" type link had came off the internal shifting mechcanism and the internal rod.

The tranny shifts great from 1st to 2nd, shifts a little soft from 2nd to 3rd, but not too bad. When I try to go over 45 it starts to slip and gets progressively worse with speed.

Looking for advice on best tranny choice. Manual trans for the street and track. Using a gen 6 496 1996-99 (Internal balanced) all forged parts, mutha thumper cam, that should put out just over 800hp. Looking to bolt up a manual tranny to it. Would like to hear what's the best choice out there...

All tranny tail housings should have 2 threaded holes (7/16 coarse thread) for attaching the rubber mount to the tail housing. All 72-earlier tranny CROSS MEMBERS have 2 holes for 2 bolts to pass through and screw into a rubber mount with 2 threaded holes (7/16 coarse thread).
