How do I spell the word woah as used in surprise or excitement? Is it similar to wow except for the last w?

The OED lists woah as a variant of woa which is a variant of whoa... I don't remember ever seeing the woah spelling (I'd want to pronounce it as two syllables: wo-ah, like Noah) before moving to England [as an American], but it's a very popular spelling here. Searching just UK sites, one gets ~170,000 hits for woah and ~255,000 for whoa.

@Mari-LouA woah, those are indeed many. Interestingly, one of them is explaining precisely why, in the author's opinion, I apologize that is wrong.

Then let out a slow "Woah" or similar. If I was startled by a shout (such as your example "Don't move!") I would probably call back "What the F***?" Followed, assuming I knew the person who called out, by a question about why the warning, naming the person. As would many men/gentlemen.
